Adaatham Darji Pragati Mandal, established in 1979 is a Mumbai based public charitable organisation serving for the social, economic and cultural welfare of the Adaatham Darji community. The Trust has been serving the community for more than 40 years through the following activities.
Financial Assistance to Widows & Economically Weaker Section: Trust has set aside a separate corpus fund to provide quarterly financial assistance to needy widows or families from economically weaker section for their maintenance and education of their children. Currently Trust is providing regular financial assistance to about 39 widows/families.
Educational Scheme: Trust gives scholarship to the needy students, awards prizes to the meritorious students, distributes notebooks & stationery items at concessional rates. Trust also arranges seminar for students for preparation of SSC Board exams and career counseling. Recently we have also set up a Higher Education Fund for the scholarship / financial assistance to aspiring students from weak economic background and pursuing higher education.
Recently ADPM has tied up with leading career counseling company to provide professional CAREER COUNSELING for students of community. We have completed the Four batch of around 85 SSC students for personalized counseling of students with their parents after conducting aptitude-cum-personality test. We plan to cover all the students of community under this program by conducting similar exercise for SSC students every year.
Medical Relief Scheme: Trust has set aside a corpus fund to run the Medical Relief Scheme to provide financial assistance to needy people to meet medical expenses for treatment of serious diseases and illness.
Samuh Lagna (Mass Marriage): Trust is organizing “Samuh Lagna” (mass marriage ceremony) every year since 1998 for the benefit of middle class families of our community. Samuh Lagna is being organised with the objective of minimising the total expenditure and to reduce the financial burden on middle class families. So far, Trust has organised 22 Samuh Lagna,
Sammelan (New Year Get together): Trust is organizing “Sneh Sammelan every year since inception in 1979 on during Hindu New Year (after Diwali), wherein all the activities of community are highlighted to members. Trust also rewards the meritorious students under its Kedavani Paritoshik Yojna covering students from Std. 1 to 12, Degree Courses and Higher Education. In the year 2018, Trust had given awards/prizes to more than 250 students under this Scheme.
Vasti Patrak : Trust has been regularly compiling and circulating community Address book, providing contact details of all families in community,so far we have released 3 such Address books. In 2015, Trust started the work of preparing First Vasti Patrak of Community and released search popular census/Vasti Patrak book on 19th June 2016, Which provides the contact details of all community members ,which will be helpful in connecting each other in community.
Overall, Trust has spent more than Rs. 60 lacs in the above noble causes.
